My Nail Art Society packages arrive in black bubble mailer envelopes.
You always get a card telling you what's trending in the nail art society. This card is featuring amazing manicures brought to you by ES Nails, from Los Angeles.
You also receive a tips and instructions card for this months featured items.
This months featured items has a lot of magnetizing appeal.
These gorgeous swarovski crystals, in a cute little flower container, add a sparkle to your accent nail.
I'm stoked about this Stella Beauty Products tweezer. I seem to be a collector of bad tweezers, so I'm very glad to have a quality pair that works for both my unruly eyebrows and applying the swarovski crystals to my nails. However, when I took the tweezers out of the package, I got cut by some sharp ridges hanging off the side. I have no idea what it was, but I had to file it off before I could safely use them. Hopefully this was just a fluke, and it isn't that way with all the sets.
I love the Cherimoya nail art brush. It's the perfect shape to get into detail or create stripes and tips. I appreciate the quality, many nail art brushes I've used in the past lose their shape before you've even finished your mani. There's a reason I only take pictures of my left hand ;). The absolute best item in the package is the Layla Magneffect nail polish in Changing Lilac. I've been dying to try a Layla product, but they tend to be a tad out of my price range. Ranging from $12-$20 each.
To use the magneffect nail polish make sure you have:
Your favorite base and top coats as well as patience and a steady hand.

Start out with your favorite base coat, allowing it to dry completely. I am using China Glaze Strong Adhesive Base Coat
Apply one coat of the Layla Magneffect polish and let dry.
Apply second coat to one finger and a time IMMEDIATELY hover your finger over the magnet getting as close as you can without tapping your nail.
YOU WILL tap your nail, trust me. When you're first using magnetic polish it takes a few attemps to properly figure out the magnet to nail ratio, but you'll get the hang of it. Practice makes perfect.
Hold your nail over the magnet for a few seconds( 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi 3 Mississippi...) and you should have a gorgeous 3d manicure!
The top of bottle tells you which direction your magnet will create the effect.
Lather, rinse repeat for all your nails. Finish with your favorite top coat. I used China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat.
Try this:
Use a striper brush to create zebra stripes or tips. And use the swarovski crystals on your accent nail

Here's the completed product! I'm pretty happy with it.
Have you tried magnetic nail polish before? Have you (or will you) joined the Nail Art Society? I'd love to hear from you. Leave a comment here, or find me on twitter @carynakacare
